Habema Marines Light Up Kemali Village with Unity and Hope

NDUGA - In a heartfelt mission to strengthen trust and foster unity, the Indonesian Armed Forces’ (TNI) Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/Mayangkara Kostrad Task Forces brought more than just security to Kemali Village in Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Sunday, November 17, 2024, the Soldiers, led by Captain Galih Widiharyo from the Batas Batu Post, transformed their routine border patrol into an inspiring act of community engagement.

As part of their Social Communication (Komsos) initiative, the Soldiers visited the village during their patrol along the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border. Their aim? To connect with the local community, share updates, and show that the TNI is not only a force of protection but also a partner in the region’s development.

The visit sparked heartwarming moments as the Soldiers interacted with children, playing games and spreading laughter. Local parents took the opportunity to share updates on the village’s security, which remains safe and conducive. The Soldiers’ presence reassured the community, reinforcing the trust that lies at the heart of Papua’s progress.

One resident, Yusuf Kogoya, expressed his gratitude with simple yet profound words: “Thank you, Commander 503. God bless.” This heartfelt message captures the essence of the bond between the TNI and the Papuan people a partnership rooted in mutual respect and hope for a brighter future.

The efforts of the 503 Task Forces drew praise from Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commanding General of HABEMA. He applauded the initiative as a shining example of TNI’s dedication to fostering harmony and supporting Papua’s welfare development.

“This mission exemplifies our commitment to building bridges with local communities, ensuring peace, and accelerating progress in Papua, ” he said.

The TNI’s engagement in Kemali Village goes beyond their duty to safeguard borders. It represents a broader mission: to unite communities and create an environment where peace and development can thrive hand in hand. By blending security operations with acts of compassion, the TNI reaffirms its role as a pillar of hope for Papua.

The smiles shared in Kemali Village are not just fleeting moments—they are seeds of trust that will grow into lasting partnerships, ensuring that Papua’s future is built on a foundation of unity, peace, and prosperity.
