Yahukimo - In an inspiring display of unity and mutual respect, the Yahukimo Police (Polres Yahukimo) surprised the Indonesian Marine Corps Battalion 6 (Yonif 6 Marinir) with a heartfelt celebration to mark the 79th Anniversary of the Korps Marinir on Friday, November 15, 2024. The surprise visit took place at the Yonif 6 Marinir's Command Post in Yahukimo Regency, Papua, where the police and military forces came together in a moment of camaraderie and celebration.
Led by the Chief of Police, AKBP Heru Hidayanto, a delegation from Polres Yahukimo arrived bearing a large birthday cake and joyfully sang the traditional *Happy Birthday* song to honor the Marine Corps. The gesture, which was warmly received by Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, Commander of Yonif 6 Marinir, was a powerful reminder of the strong partnership between the Marine Corps and the local police in Papua.
"Happy 79th Anniversary to the Korps Marinir!" said AKBP Heru Hidayanto during the celebration. "May the Marine Corps continue to thrive, earn the love of the people, and remain united in synergy with the police. Together, let's strengthen our cooperation to maintain peace and order in Yahukimo."
